This error is normally found in Oracle Versions older than 10.2.0.5.

As per Oracle, the above mentioned error code argument is treated as Bug and the same is fixed in 10.2.0.5 or higher versions. Apart from this, there is no detailed explanation for the same in Oracle Knowledge Search.

If this particular error is getting displayed in your Alert.log, it's time that you should think about upgrading your database as the Oracle has stepped up to a lot of newer versions (18c is the latest database). Even if you don't want to upgrade to 12c or latest version, still you should upgrade at least up to Oracle 11g Database because as per to me, 11g is much more stable release than 10g.

Note: Please consider the compatibility of your Application with your database version if you are thinking of upgrade. There may be chances that the Application you are using is not compatible with the Oracle Version you want to upgrade. Please consult the same with your Application Vendor.
